This sterling silver bracelet was formed by raising it from a flat sheet of sterling silver into a strong, light-weight cuff bracelet that gracefully and comfortably circles the wrist. The technique is called anticlastic raising. It is time intensive and involves hammering the metal to compress and stretch it at once along both axis like a saddle. After a piece is formed all marks are filed away and it is finished for a flowing look. This piece was taken to a mirror finish and then a satin finish was applied to the underside. It provides a lovely contrast as the bottom curves up over the top which was left in a mirror finish. The edges are polished to a bright shine which accentuate the curve of the bracelet around the wrist. Its oval shape comfortably fits medium and larger wrists riding just below the wrist on top of the hand like a bangle.
