Artist Bio
What do you do when you have drawn, painted, danced, played in a band, sung in a girl group, dabbled in creative writing and photography courses, enjoy computer graphic design and love original unique jewelry? Explore some more! For me, that meant following my attraction to wearable art. It has led to my jewelry design business.
I've been in the arts from the time I was a little kid. I love art and bring it to my jewelry. I've been involved in jewelry design and fabrication since 2006 taking classes at a local community college at night (as my day job allowed). I've had fantastic teachers at the college and have taken additional courses from master craftsman in other regions of the U.S. I'm also self taught in many fabrication techniques.
My modern, contemporary jewelry is fashioned in precious metals and inspired by nature, music and many different cultural traditions. My pieces are one-of-a-kind or limited editions showing pride in craftsmanship and design.
I enjoy making metal come to life through fabrication and some casting. My pieces feature carving, engraving, and forging as part of the many different fabrication techniques I use. Precious and semi-precious stones bring color to some of my lines.
I am always broadening my jewelry design skills and knowledge. You'll see new techniques in upcoming pieces as they progress and evolve.
What started as a hobby has turned into a passion. I still have my day job for a few more years so I get to work in my studio in Texas at night and on the weekends. It has become a totally absorbing experience and a great journey to be on. I hope you enjoy being on it with me.
